Lookers Volvo Colchester Welcomes the 64 Plate

Lookers Volvo Colchester has revealed a massive 25 per cent increase in car sales for the new ’64 plate’, which hits the road this week.

The car dealer, in Cowdray Avenue – which is headline sponsor for the Essex Digital Awards 2015 – confirmed the one quarter rise in sales versus the 63 registration mark which entered the market in September last year.

The motoring firm, which shall also be participating in the first-ever online only car launch on September 3, posted the rise in sales against a total marketplace increase of around 11 per cent.

Miles Alvis, the Franchise Manager at Lookers Volvo Colchester, says the Scandinavian manufacturer’s new product range and improved engines are likely to be the main reasons behind the upward surge in sales.

He added: “The new product range and engines with improved MPG and lower CO2 emissions are proving very popular with buyers and particularly XC60 and V40 continue to be in very high demand.

“Prestige does not have to mean default German autos any longer, the build quality and materials used in the latest model range have a truly Scandinavian minimalist touch and feel but with a real depth of quality, the in car technology has been improved for our digital age and the cars now have internet connectivity that is reliable and interactive but still simple to use.

“The all new XC90 is a case in point with its 9 inch portrait screen, removing confusing buttons and switches in favour of an ipad style central control function.

“Volvo remains the market leader in safety and customers are migrating from other brands who’s vehicles whilst safe don’t match the wealth of passive and predictive accident avoidance features in the new range of cars.”

In August, Lookers Volvo Colchester signed up to become the Headline Sponsor for the Essex Digital Awards 2015.

The EDAs is the first and only awards scheme in Essex to recognise the online achievements of businesses, charities and schools from across the county.

There are Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes to be won across ten categories including ‘Website’, ‘Mobile App’, ‘Use of Social Media for Business’ and ‘School, Education or Charity Website’.

For 2015 there is also a new category for business bloggers.
